TRANSFORMERS ADDS THREESOME
May 12, 2006 at 11:27:00 AM

(I just had to reprint this story from Reuters, since it has me all aflutter! I've been a Trans-Fan for years and years. --J.D.)

Australian newcomer Rachael Taylor and Prison Break star Amaury Nolasco have been cast in Transformers, the live-action adaptation of the 1980s Hasbro toy line of giant robots that morph into cars, trucks, planes, and ships.

Tyrese Gibson is in negotiations to join them in director Michael Bay's DreamWorks project. Already cast are Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Jon Voight, and Bernie Mac.

Taylor will play Maggie Marconi, a codebreaker at a think tank. Nolasco and Gibson are Army officers.

Transformers, which has a July 4, 2007, release date, is scheduled to start shooting this month in Los Angeles.

Taylor was in town only three weeks when she booked her role. She appeared in the feature Man-Thing and played Catherine Oxenberg in TV's Dynasty: The Making of a Guilty Pleasure.

Nolasco is best known for playing Wentworth Miller's cellmate in Fox's cult hit Prison Break. He is currently in theaters with the comedy The Benchwarmers.

Gibson most recently appeared in Annapolis.

Sadly, as the older sister to my brother and as the mother to 2 boys, I kick ass on Transformer manipulation.

Kick. Ass.
